IRS Income Tax Refund Schedule 2025: When Will Your Refund Arrive?

Watch your mailboxes and check your bank accounts: IRS refunds can be issued as early as February 18. However, most federal tax refunds take longer.

A federal court has blocked the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which required businesses to report beneficial ownership info to the Treasury. This ruling, just before a reporting deadline, has left many business owners with questions.

Have you filed beneficial ownership information (BOI) yet? DUE 12/31/24

Most businesses in Minnesota are small businesses that may need to report information about their beneficial owners—the persons who ultimately own or control the company—to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This is a new requirement that went into effect this year due to the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).

Companies that are required to comply (“reporting companies”) must file their initial reports by the following deadlines:

Existing companies: Reporting companies registered before January 1, 2024 must file by January 1, 2025.

Newly created or registered companies: Reporting companies registered in 2024 have 90 calendar days to file after receiving actual or public notice that their company’s creation or registration is effective.

Beginning in 2025, newly created or registered companies will have 30 days.

Filing is simple, secure, and free of charge. Beneficial ownership information reporting is not an annual requirement. A report only needs to be submitted once, unless the filer needs to update or correct information.

Don't fall for it!
I just received a solicitation for MN Annual Renewal of your LLC or DBA from CFS at a cost of $135. It is FREE and EASY to file these annual renewals yourself with the MN Secretary of State.
We take care of these for our TAX clients, however some still think this is a "bill" they need to pay. SAVE yourself some $$ and file it.
