Over the weekend, screenshots of a threat to a “Central High School” were circulated among Winona students on social media platforms. Although there is no Central High School in Winona Area Public Schools, the threat no doubt caused concern, alarm and panic among our students and their families.

There is no credible threat to Winona Senior High School, or any other building in Winona Area Public Schools. The threat originated at a school in Missouri and was not directed to our high school.

We want to thank the students who reported the threat to administration and teachers. There has been a trend of these types of threats throughout the country. Please take this opportunity to talk with your student about school safety, as well as remind them to report any rumors or information about an unsafe situation or behavior to an adult. Remember, if you see or hear something, say something.

Miller Mentoring is hosting its annual Student & Family Night on Monday, Sept. 20th in the Learning Commons @ WSHS. The event is for both current 9-12 grade Miller students and high school students interested in joining the program. Bring the family to connect with the coordinators who make it all happen, enjoy some light refreshments, and see why Miller Mentoring is a great place to be at Winona Senior High. Current Miller students will fill out the application for this school year and interested students will be able to fill out a referral. There will be two sessions that evening: 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Oh, and as a friendly reminder, don’t forget to wear a mask to keep everyone safe, healthy, and in school!

Didn't get a chance to order your Pink Out shirt? Have no fear. Stop in the activities office and get yours today!

There are still some "Pink Out" shirts available in the Winona Senior High School activities office. See activities secretary Mindy Moger if you'd like to purchase one. Costs are $15 for adult long-sleeve Ts and $10 for youth short-sleeve Ts. Proceeds go toward Team Vogel vs. Cancer.
