Do you want to bring a global perspective to your home while supporting our schools and community? The Winona Area Public Schools’ K-12 Spanish dual language immersion program, Ríos, is seeking host families to welcome teaching interns from Spanish-speaking countries for the 2025-2026 school year.

Hosting an intern is a rewarding opportunity to:

🌎 Share cultures, languages, and traditions.
🪴Help your children grow through cultural exchange.
🏫Support the success of our Spanish immersion students.

Hosting requirements:
🛏️ Provide a private bedroom for the intern.
🍽️ Cover three daily meals.
🚗 May need to offer transportation to school, if school bus routes are unavailable.

Without host families, we cannot bring these incredible interns to our classrooms.

🧡🖤 Way to go, Winhawks! 🧡🖤

Our students and families showed incredible generosity by collecting pop top tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Pop Tab Program. These small tabs make a big difference, helping support families staying at the Rochester House while their children receive medical care.

We collected so many tabs, we had to deliver them in trash bags. What an amazing effort by our W-K community! 👏

The school book fair is coming to our school in April. Our 1st grade team would love if every student could get a book. We are also hoping to learn more about money while we go too! Looking for anyone willing to donate to our scholastic account so that we can ensure every child in our 1st grade gets to shop this year. Generally books are around $6 or more each. If you are able even to just share a couple dollars, it would help. Thanks friends!
