We are delighted to announce Riverway's Staff of the Month goes to
(drumroll...........)

Ms. Molly!

Ms. Molly is a secondary para who wears lots of hats and fills many roles. She builds strong rapport with students and works hard to create fun opportunities that build connections and community.

Coltrane - We are so thankful for your presence at Riverway.
You are an excellent example of owning your education and experiences; committing to your classwork, pouring into your projects, and making the most of opportunities available to you. You are curious, eager to learn, open to feedback, and of course, incredibly creative (writing, artwork, and puppetry, oh my! ) just to name a few.

You are respectful to staff.
Kind to fellow classmates.

Otto, you have a big heart that shines so bright! Every day in Children’s House, you show all of us how to be kind, respectful, and caring. Thank you for being an awesome helper to your classmates, your teachers, and your little brother, Ronan, who is brand new to Children’s House this year.

Help Our Students Shine – Become a Tutor!

Every child deserves the opportunity to be a successful learner. That’s why Riverway Learning Community is looking for AmeriCorps tutors to help students build their skills and confidence.

Tutors serve during school hours and spend their days providing students with extra practice and skill building. With the support of an on-site coach, tutors use activities proven to help students improve in reading or math.
No experience? No problem. Our tutors come from all walks of life. Whether you're a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent, or retiree, you can make a great tutor!

Part-time and full-time positions for the 2026-27 school year are available beginning in October. Tutors receive a paycheck every two weeks plus an education award to pay for qualifying college tuition or student loans. Tutors aged 55 or older may gift the education award to their child, grandchild, stepchild, step-grandchild, or foster child.

Monday mornings are special to Riverway because we connect as a whole school to recap happenings, share information and celebrate our mission.

Today was EXTRA special because Laurie Krause (Riverway Founder), Cindy Hoberg (quilter extraordinaire) and Nancy Ventura (master stitcher) presented us with the 25th Anniversary Quilt that was created by many hands with a lot of heart over the course of last year.

A total of 88 squares contain artwork from students, staff and people impacted by Riverway over the years. The four corners show the progression from starting on the banks of the Mississippi, to MN City, to the corner of 61 and finally, our current location.

We are excited to display this quilt that symbolizes so many wonderful things. THANK YOU, Laurie, Cindy, and Nancy and all the students that helped make it happen.

We are feeling immensely thankful for Rob Brault and his willingness to share his canoe expertise with our Secondary students. His passion for the activity is palpable and it's a pleasure to learn from such a seasoned paddler.

We are acutely aware of how privileged we are to have a lake out our back door and the boats/equipment to use it. Introducing and honing these skills will hopefully lead to lifelong enjoyment of being on the water.

BIG THANKS to all the staff and community helpers that make this a possibility. Paddle on!
