8th grade Group B—not as many photos due to my phone storage being full (and stubborn), but we had just as much fun as the first round!

What I loved most about this experience was that it was truly an EXPERIMENT. Group 1 and I followed the directions, but we weren’t exactly satisfied with the outcome. So in class today, we all discussed which parts of the experiment would remain constant and which parts should change. The students were actively engaged in the discussion, and they truly went through the scientific method in order to alter the outcome! Now we wait for crystallization and Rock Candy!!

8th graders (group 1) prepping for our Rock Candy crystal growing experiment! Give a teen a camera, and you get all the angles!!

8th graders must bring a pint- or quart-sized jar to school TUES 9/29 for a science project! (First announced last Wed!)
Reusing a jar is fine as long as it meets the size requirements.
(EX spaghetti sauce jar)

6th grade Grammar students need 6 photos of themselves to bring to school on Wed 9/16. Photos may be printed on regular paper and should be from a major life event such as a vacation. Students will write personal narratives about the event.

Woohoo it’s Color Wars Day!!!!!

08/20/2026

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students have received Student Handbooks and an AI Law acknowledgement form that parents must complete and return to school. Please make time to remit these completed forms TOMORROW! The farther we get into the year, the less likely they are to make it back in a timely fashion!

Also, please note the required fees listed at the bottom of the Student Parent Contract and remit those as soon as possible.

Teacher classroom fees are as follows and should be remitted as soon as possible:

Elkins $5
McCoy $5
Bird $10
Carter $15

Thanks so much for your prompt attention to these matters! It’s going to be a fabulous year!
