The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Be SMART, will host a FREE Gun Safety Giveaway for the community.

Free handgun safes, gun locks, and trigger locks will be available while supplies last.

🍎 Parents, student feedback is helping shape our cafeteria menus!

During the August Board of Trustees meeting, FCSD recognized several outstanding achievements across the district.

🏆 Communications Excellence — Mr. Jalen Copeland was recognized for earning two national awards and one state award during his first full year as Public Information Officer, marking the first time the FCSD Communications Department has received awards of this kind.

📚 Academic Growth — Kelly Miller Elementary was recognized for ranking #2 in South Carolina for Student Academic Growth in ELA.

⭐ SC READY Excellence — Students from Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science and Geiger Elementary were recognized for earning the highest possible score on portions of the SC READY assessment.

🎉 Congratulations to Mr. Elvis Goode, News19 Teacher of the Week! 🍎📚

Mr. Goode, a fifth-grade teacher at Geiger Elementary School, has been recognized by WLTX News19 as Teacher of the Week!

His wife, daughter, and a former student also shared what makes Mr. Goode such a dedicated and impactful educator.

We are incredibly proud of Mr. Goode and the difference he continues to make in the lives of his students and throughout Fairfield County School District!

🚨 TRAFFIC UPDATE — US HIGHWAY 321 SOUTH REOPENED 🚨

US Highway 321 South in Winnsboro has reopened to traffic following the closure related to the fire at the MLILY USA facility.

Students who drive, families, staff, and community members traveling through the area should continue to use caution. Emergency crews remain on scene, and smoke may still impact visibility.

⚠️ Please slow down, stay alert, and allow emergency vehicles plenty of room as you travel through the area.

✅ US Highway 321 South is OPEN. Please travel safely.

Fire Update (7:02 am): Due to an ongoing fire situation, Hwy 321 is shut down between Hwy 34 and Hwy 269. Please avoid this area. There is still no danger to those in the immediate vicinity of the area of the fire.

There is a large plume of smoke emitting from the facility. Proceed with caution while driving and avoid the immediate area.
