We are having a great time in Lafayette at the LA State Jr Beta Convention! We have had several place in their events! At this moment we have 2 groups that are headed to the finals for their competitions! We are still waiting results for a few! Pictures and updates soon!!

We will have a Beta Showcase Tuesday, Jan 31 at 6pm in the WMS gymnasium. We will have a short introduction of participants and their projects. All projects will be on display for viewing- please invite your family and friends!

WMS Betas volunteered today for our Downtown Trunk of Treats! We put together and wrapped 1,000 hot dogs in 1 hour! Some stayed to hand them out while others went to work at other locations! As of now WMS Junior Beta Club is 4th in the state with over 330 service hours!

Today we donated 50 snack bags to the Winn Parish Food Pantry!

After school yesterday Beta members stayed to pack snack bags for our local food pantry!

We had our first official meeting today! Students received their official invitation to our induction ceremony on Monday, Oct 10. We went over the October newsletter and discussed upcoming service opportunities. Our first one will be after school tomorrow until 4:15. These are optional and students will have plenty of opportunities to serve. If they can’t stay tomorrow it’s ok! We are planning a fundraiser for later in the month. Proceeds will go to purchasing items for the snack bags we are donating to the food pantry. Founder’s Day is at the end of the month. We will celebrate by honoring our faculty & staff with positive notes, a warm welcome to school that morning, and by stocking the lounge with snacks for the day! Please ask your student to share their newsletter with you so you don’t miss anything!
