Another school year is upon us, when the moments will begin and more memories are made. We love that these moments can be built on a solid foundation that will have an impact for a lifetime!
Join us on Thursday, August 27, to meet the teachers, get class schedules, drop off supplies, and hear from Headmaster Woodring. Stop in as early as 5:00, and we will pause at 6:00 for the parents meeting with Ms. Woodring.
We’re so excited for the upcoming year, and we’re looking forward to seeing our returning families again and meeting the new families. Welcome back and welcome to Genesis!

Homeschool families, are you looking for more options to cover your education needs? Is there a subject you’d like another teacher to cover? Does your child desire more engagement with peers through organized activities or competition? Are you looking for programs that align with your families values? If you have pondered any of these questions, we encourage you to explore the various classes, lessons, and activities open to homeschool students. These options are all in-person, with experienced and qualified teachers, instructors, and coaches. We’ve had great partnerships in the past with homeschool families in classes, sports, and activities, and we want more to know about what is offered. Volleyball season is here! Camp week gave some players a head start and a chance to reconnect. High school starts next week and is competing in the MCAC high school league for their second year at the varsity level. Players in 5th-8th begin the following week and play private schools and groups in the area and northern Iowa. We invite home school families to contact Genesis for more information if interested—we have partnered with several home school students the past couple of years. Go Griffins!

We are very blessed to welcome Steve Kastning to GCA as our new building maintenance and groundskeeper. Things are looking very good around here, and we can barely get our requests in before Steve has them handled. Thank you, Steve, for blessing our school in a huge way!

School is just around the corner! Whether your student is new or returning, please stop by to get geared up for the year. We have made the burden light by providing gently used and new or like new uniforms for daily use, dress uniforms, and P.E. Please stop by before you go shopping—we just may have everything you need!

Setting students up for good stewardship, a great work ethic, and proper planning for their finances, as they transition into adulthood, is vital. At Genesis, juniors and seniors participate in a Personal Finance class, taught by professionals in the field.
