It is a bittersweet day for Lil Lucy’s daycare.
I’m filled with gratitude for all the love and support from friends, family, and our wonderful community over the years. I’ll miss all the kiddos so much and will forever cherish the amazing memories we’ve made together. A special shoutout to the incredible gals who helped me along the way, and a huge thank you to Mandi Abbott for standing by my side through it all! ❤️

To Our Valued Parents

To follow up from yesterday’s post, please let us know your schedule for August and if you will be needing care until August 15. ‼️

Also please understand, This decision was not made lightly, but it is necessary for us to prioritize our personal and business needs.
We understand the financial burden daycare can place on families. Despite our efforts to maintain one of the lowest rates in the state, the rising costs of groceries, which now average between $800-$1200 per month (with only a $200-$300 grocery fund), coupled with the increased cost of living for our employees, have made it increasingly challenging to sustain our operations. Additionally, expenses for homeowners insurance, liability insurance, utilities, workers insurance, repairs, maintenance, and necessary supplies like diapers and formula have continued to escalate.
Out of the 22 children registered at our daycare, only five attend for the full five days a week, 4 of the children 4 days a week and the rest are 3 days or less or drop ins. While we fully support families utilizing other forms of childcare to save money, this has led to a decreased need for our daycare services in the community.

As you consider alternative childcare arrangements, please remember the significant efforts and costs involved in providing quality care. Our team has always been dedicated to ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for every child, and we hope this is taken into consideration when hiring someone to care for your children.

Dear Parents and Community Members,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of Lil Lucy’s Daycare as of August 15, 2024, indefinitely. This decision comes as a result of developments in our other businesses and the necessity of utilizing the daycare location for our own use.
We deeply appreciate the trust and support you have shown to Lil Lucy’s Daycare over the last 3 years. Serving your children and being a part of this wonderful community has been an honor and a privilege.
We understand the impact this closure may have on your childcare arrangements. For those seeking private care, both Mandi Abbott and Hawks (406-690-7505) have expressed interest in assisting families during this transition. Please feel free to reach out to them directly to discuss potential arrangements.

Happy Summer everyone!
I want to jump ahead to the school year and touch base about a couple things!
First off I want to welcome Ragen Hawks to the team! Ragen has moved to the area with her beautiful baby boy, she has past experience in the daycare Industry and runs her own cleaning business! Ragen will be taking over the position as Director of Lil Lucy’s daycare (I will remain owner for now and continue to handle the books), she will be helping me and be responsible for day to day operations and communications. She is going to ease in starting in June and hope to be up to date on courses and settled in her new home by the school year!
Welcome Ragen!
Secondly, we would like to touch base about schedules.
Priority spots will be given to those who choose to commit to 5 days a week, then 4 days etc. We have to plan and schedule employees as per our numbers of kids in a months advance,
I understand that there will be a “flex schedule” in the school year for teachers, however we need to stay on a consistent schedule throughout the year to maintain employee availability and schedule!
So please message me with summer schedule asap!
We are also going to start a Lemonade stand day, we will update with a schedule!
Proceeds to go towards new summer toys!!

I meant to get a picture yesterday and forgot!
But it was Miss Jennifer Fisk last day yesterday, and we are all going to miss her!!❤️

Due to the power outage the daycare is very dark and cold, breakfast will not be served, and I will make the call as for now to close until 9 am, if power is not restored by 8:30 we will close for the day. Stay tuned for updates
