Some gifts change a campus, others change lives! Former professor John Coleman's generosity has funded both a scholarship and a brand-new play therapy room, equipping Wingate's counseling graduate students with the space they need to help the community's youngest clients. 🐾 Read the full story below!

In addition to an undergraduate scholarship, John Coleman's gifts have established a space for future counselors to learn to treat children.

The University offers its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Wingate OTD student Lucy Endean, who passed away after an automobile accident last week.

We are heartbroken to share that we lost a member of our WUOTD family this week. Lucy was everyone’s friend, passionate about serving others in need, and a true ray of sunshine that lit up every room she entered. We send our love and prayers to Lucy’s family and friends, and we will miss her so very much. Her celebration of life will be Wednesday, July 8 at 11:00am at The Journey Church in Lake Wylie, SC. Her family asks that those in attendance not wear black, but instead choose something that would make Lucy smile.

Instead of flowers, her family wishes to honor Lucy's passions by donating to one of two organizations she cared for deeply:

1. The Wingate University Department of Occupational Therapy to a fund that will be earmarked to provide equipment to clinic clients who cannot afford it. Checks can be made payable to Wingate University, c/o Department of Occupational Therapy, P.O. Box 159, Wingate, NC 28174

2. Union Diversified Industries, an organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where Lucy led our service initiatives: https://www.uniondiversifiedindustries.org/ways-to-give/

From the fields at Wingate to the world stage! ⚽️🌎

As the FIFA World Cup kicks off today, we are incredibly proud to spotlight Wingate alumnus Jhamie Chin '21, who is serving as the Senior Media Relations Officer for FIFA during this historic tournament for North America.

Refelcting on this milestone, Jhamie recently shared: "Soccer has been a central part of my life since the very beginning, and I’m thankful for all the opportunities, lessons, and experiences it has brought me over the years. Extremely proud to be part of this historic moment for the sport in North America."
