Wingate University PA Studies The Wingate University Physician Assistant Program is dedicated to developing educated, productive, a Your experience at Wingate is one of active learning.

All classes are interactive and students should be prepared to contribute at many levels throughout their time with us. Learning to work in a group dynamic prepares you for organizational and patient situations in your career. We encourage questions and participation now so that you’ll be ready to interact meaningfully in your work. Wingate offers the PA program on two campuses one located in Wingate, NC and the other in Hendersonville, NC.

Our students may be on fall break this week, but they are still focused on becoming a PA! Clinical students complete a project during PA Week that promotes and elevates the PA profession. Several Hendersonville campus students attended the Henderson County Public School Health Science Career Event at Hendersonville High School for their project. Students spoke with middle and high school students, and their parents, to explain what a PA is and what they do. This was the first such event planned by HCPS, and we appreciate the opportunity to attend!

Welcome back to campus, Class of 2027! And welcome to clinical orientation and Transitions! Over the coming weeks, our clinical students will focus weekly on each of the 8 core rotation types. Hope our students have strong retention from their didactic semesters! It is time to apply your knowledge with hands-on learning through task trainers, mock patient encounters, and simulated experiences. First . . . students found out their first rotation! Orientation week wrapped up with snacks and rotation reveal. Students were very happy with their rotation assignments!

Class of 2027, you are awesome! Students took the PAEA PACKRAT exam today, which is an objective, comprehensive self-assessment tool for student and curricular evaluation. This is a national exam administered by PAEA.
And how well did our students perform?
Spectacularly!!! Wingate students exceeded the national average by 9 points. They also exceeded the national average in 11 of 13 content areas, and by double-digit margins in two areas. They exceeded the national average in all 7 task areas. This is an amazing way to close out your didactic year! Be proud of what you accomplished today!

Ask a Class of 2027 student how their day went and their response will most likely be a sigh of relief and a smile! Our students finished their didactic assessment and procedures lab final exam today. One step closer to the clinical year! The summer semester is winding down, and final exams are next week. Good luck to all our students! The summer break is right around the corner, but stay focused to ace your finals!
