PTO Meeting
Tuesday, April 21, 2026
1. Welcome & Introductions - We all know each other.
2. Treasurers Report - Taylor is at Flag football tonight, however the Report is available however. Good news that Baden Square was more reasonable, more quiet, more space, etc. $1250 Budget and we only spent $700.00. (See 5. D) for more info.
3. Correspondence - Thank you card from Mrs. Bargs class from the pull tab prizes. They loved it and were so appreciative of the prizes.
4. Principal Update
a. Current Student Count - 252 Whittier, 55 Staff, 62 with the aids
14 Day School students and 7 Staff there. It will remain plus SAGE program as well.
b. Upcoming Events - Fast Bridge testing. Thursday is K Round up. May First character trait assembly and that will combine Aprils Character trait as well. May 6th 2nd grade field trip going to the skating rink and the 3rd Grade Egg Drop. May 7 K and 1st grades field trip. May 8 - Winfield Wax Museum. May 14 end of the year assembly on the last day of school. May 4-8 is Teacher appreciation week.
There is a new Policy change on when the building will be opening everyday - We are no longer going to let kids come in early at 7:15, it will be at 7:30 so it will be smoother and more consistent with the other schools.
5. Old Business
a. Positions to Fill - Front office - Stacy’s child is graduating and she is going to a Eye Doc. Office to work. Heather is getting a promotion to the District office and she is very much needed there in her new role. Congratulations.
b. Vice President – No need for vote. Welcome Megan Cates!
c. Pull Tab Collection – 22 buckets filled for prizes, just shy of 150 lbs donated! Tour by CEO. They were very impressed by our numbers especially for our size of school. Next year we will do a video for the school to explain why we are collecting the tabs.
d. Bingo Night – great success

e. 5th Grade Field Trip Request – skate & pizza shortage - we will pay
Pizza Hut gave us a discount around 200 with water. Bus leaves 8:30/8:45 am on May 8th

7. New Business
a. 5th Grade Celebration on last day of school. Request for funds for donuts (10 dozen, $110.60). Reusable banner with donuts & school supplies?

c. PTO Calendar
d. The BINGO event was a hit especially at Baden Square. Overall extreme success.
8. Comments/Questions/Concerns/SUGESTIONS
Concerns of keeping Whittier and its uniqueness. We don’t want to lose our awesomeness. Looking at it from the District stand point, we all need to be more similar. It’s not about who’s BEST but what makes us individually great. The teachers have asked that they need to work on more instructional time and less time on the other things… we are going to continue to strive to balance it all.
