The Great Lakes area was once a great hub of lacrosse. The game served to bring Native American people together from all the tribes.
It was their World Trade Center, their United Nations, their hospital and their church. It was their school and their political system.
But it was also a part of their blessing, which along with the vision-quest, marked a Native boy's pathway into manhood.
However, the game, like the people, was displaced by immigration.
Yet today it lives on, and is rising up, as it is adapted by many people and many more tribes, recovering it's place as a trainer of the youth and a developer of society.
In honor of the world's fastest growing sport, this Monday, October 9th, which is Columbus Day, I am INVITING YOU to join us as we bring people together from many parts of the lacrosse community and Chicago area to take the first steps in the creation of a new Lacrosse Training Arena and Facility on the Southside of Chicago for the NEW :

There is a large prairie where once Native Americans like the Huron, Iroquois, and Potawatomi played lacrosse.
Three hundred years ago, in 1717, there was a tribe here who played lacrosse, called in English; the People of the Fire, or Fire-Keepers.
Their physical presence is gone, but their spirit lives on in the game that once filled the lives of their youth with desire to achieve their absolute best, to honor their Creator.
JOIN US AS WE KNOCK OUT SOME TREES, and MARK OUT THE ARENA FOR PLAY... help us trim the brush, and mow the area, as we start a bon-fire to invite the area's youth to a bar-b-q, and a place where once again, the vision is shared.
Come on Monday, and help us share the game.
Please reply back ASAP SO WE CAN PREPARE FOR THE FUN...
10:00 AM-2:00 PM - Work project (bring your tools, to clean & clear the area)
2:00-6:00 - Bonfire and Bar-B-Q
Bring some meat to grill, a dish to share, yourselves, your kids, and an eagerness to help create new life, in lacrosse.
(Mike's special Knockout Bar-B-Q sauce will be made available for people to try at the Bar-B-Q, along with some other items, whose purchase, along with other contributions, will go to support the new training center).
