Winfield R-IV School District Welcomes Ericka Dixon as New Superintendent!
The Winfield R-IV School District is proud to announce that Ericka Dixon has been named the Superintendent of Schools for the 2026-2027 school year.
For Ericka, this opportunity represents a lifetime of dedication, service, and commitment to the Winfield Warrior community. She is not only a longtime educator and leader within our district, but also a proud Winfield Warrior graduate from the Class of 1997. As she begins her 26th year serving Winfield, her journey reflects a deep connection to the students, families, and traditions that make this district special. Her story is one of growing alongside the district she has always called home.
Even before beginning her professional career, Ericka was already finding ways to serve Winfield. During her college years, she returned to support the district through summer custodial work, continuing the same spirit of dedication and service that has defined her career.
Ericka’s leadership and commitment have impacted countless students, staff members, and families throughout her years at Winfield. She spent 9 years as a Special Education teacher at Winfield High School, followed by 14 years serving as our Winfield Primary Principal and Federal Programs Supervisor. Most recently, Ericka completed her first year as Assistant Superintendent, gaining valuable district-wide leadership experience and preparing for this next step.
Beyond her professional roles, Ericka has always been a champion for the Winfield community. She has been actively involved in organizations and events such as Community Partners of Eastern Lincoln County, PTO, Warrior Boosters, and many other community efforts. Her commitment extends far beyond the walls of our schools; she truly represents what it means to be a Warrior.
As our district transitions following the departure of our previous superintendent, who is moving closer to family, we recognize that this change comes at a challenging time for school districts across the state. Finding the right leader is never an easy task, but Winfield R-IV is incredibly fortunate to have a leader already invested in our students, staff, families, and community.
Ericka Dixon brings with her a deep understanding of our district, a passion for education, Warrior Pride, enthusiasm, and a strong appreciation for the traditions that make Winfield special. She is proud to serve the community that shaped her, and she and her family have chosen to build their lives right here among Warrior families.
