Did you know October 5th is World Teachers’ Day? At WCGS, we are beyond grateful to the educators who invest in our students. Our teachers, from Kindergarten to 8th grade, nurture and care for the next generation of critical thinkers and kingdom builders. Thank you, teachers, for all that you do!

We had a blast on Johnny Appleseed day! 🍎 The first grade Apple Unit is one of our favorites. It is always a joy seeing our students learn from our very own Johnny Appleseed, Principal Mr. Painter!

See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.

Thank you for joining us this morning at See You at the Pole! We loved seeing our students lead worship and prayer.

Congratulations to the team and Lucas on a great run in this year’s IESA State Boys’ Golf Tournament.

For the first time in WCGS history we have a State Champion-Lucas Burkhart! The boys’ golf team represented well this past Friday at Metamora Fields Golf Course, placing sixth out of eight teams. Lucas shot a four under par, 67, to win by two strokes. He completes a stellar run in the IESA Tournament.

We are so unbelievably proud! Thanks be to God!

🔴🟠🟡Happy Dot Day!🟢🔵🟣

Based on the famous children’s book, The Dot, Dot Day encourages all students to be creative, collaborative, and make their unique mark on the world!

Our K-5 students each paint and design their own dot, which is displayed in the WCGS hall. Each dot as unique as the student who painted it!

If you ever find yourself on the WCGS field, you will see Todd Beamer’s name, and his famous words: “Let’s roll”

Today marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. On September 2, 2002, President George Bush signed a bill declaring September 11 of each year as “Patriot Day.” For the WCGS community, it is important for us to remember and honor all those who lost their lives or who were impacted by the terrible events of September 11, 2001. One of the 3000 people who perished during the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania was a 1983 graduate of WCGS – Todd Beamer.

His legacy is one of courage and faith, and we are inspired by his bravery.

Today, we kicked off Chapel by highlighting our verse of the year.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?"

As we keep Psalm 27:1 at the center of our hearts, may we remember that when the Lord is our light, our salvation, and our stronghold, we have no reason to live in fear. Instead, we can walk forward each day with faith, courage, and hope.
