The 7th session did not yield the desired outcome; however, both of our candidates graciously stated, "whoever gets elected will do a great job!" Our girls have demonstrated leadership, significant growth and are already contemplating running again next year. They both represented themselves and Winfield FFA admirably.

Session 5: our chapter was recognized in the silver division for National Chapter award and Haley was recognized for her scholarship! Two more sessions to go!

Thursday of the 98th Kansas State FFA Convention proved to be a success. The day began with Lily's departure for the HOBY Leadership Conference. We dropped her off in the pouring rain. 🥇🥇During the 3rd session of the convention, Haley and Ellie secured a win in the division 6-Agriscience CDE for Food products and processing, impressing the judges with their innovative modified cookie recipe incorporating dehydrated cauliflower.

Wednesday at the State Convention proved to be a remarkable day. Our candidates delivered their speeches during the first session last night and Lily fulfilled her role as our delegate. Haley participated in Employability skills and we are eager to proceed to day 4 tomorrow.

Day 2 at State Convention: we dropped the 2 candidates off at 745 this morning. Lily and Mrs Shook have wondered all around Manhattan today. Our favorite stop of the day was at The A&H Farm. While there we visited the store which included many canned items, fresh meats and vegetables, homemade baked items and locally sourced honey. We got to pet birds, cows, goats, mini donkeys, tortoises and mini pigs! The farm also has an apple orchard, strawberry patch, lavender fields and a corn maze. Now for dinner, pick the 2 candidates up at 910pm and then Coldstone!

Lily, Ellie, Haley, and Mrs. Shook traveled to Manhattan today to begin an exciting week at State Convention! Haley and Ellie are running for state offices and have a packed schedule ahead of them. While there, they will also be competing in Agriscience, and Haley will additionally compete in Employability Skills.

Lily has a busy week as well and will proudly serve as our delegate on Wednesday.

We wish these Winfield FFA members the very best of luck as they continue to grow their skills, leadership abilities, and represent our chapter with pride!

The first members have arrived in Manhattan for the 98th Kansas FFA Convention! These 18 candidates officially kicked off the State Officer Candidate process, and are excited to see over 2,800 members and guests fill Kansas State University and McCain Auditorium.
