What an incredible evening at PCIS…from a ribbon-cutting ceremony to an Open House to a Community Evening! Our halls were filled with students and families as we welcomed our Buccaneers!! It’s special when the principal has to get on the PA system and tell his teachers to go home because they are still in their rooms after Open House has ended!!! 🖤💛

🎉⚓ Please join us in welcoming Mrs. LeeAnn Nixon to Perquimans County Intermediate School! 📚🖤💛

Mrs. Nixon is Perquimans through and through! 🏡 A proud graduate of Perquimans County High School, College of The Albemarle, and Elizabeth City State University, she has spent all 17 years of her teaching career serving Perquimans County students—with experience in every school in our district! 🍎✨

Mrs. Nixon holds a degree in Elementary Education and is licensed in Elementary Education, Middle Grades ELA & Social Studies, Secondary English, and AIG. Her wide range of experience and commitment to our community will be a tremendous asset to PCIS. 📖🎓

Outside of school, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Jonathan, their children, Emma and Jacob, and their fur babies, Diesel and Smoke. 🐾❤️✈️

We are excited for Mrs. Nixon to continue her journey in Perquimans County as a member of the Buccaneer family! ⚓🐾

🎉⚓ Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Lauren Fougerousse to Perquimans County Intermediate School! 📚🖤💛

Mrs. Fougerousse's journey in education started early—working in her parents' preschool and daycare at just 14 years old! After high school, she spent two years as a Special Education classroom before transitioning into the English classroom. 🍎✨

She holds an Associate's degree in Health Science and a Bachelor's degree in English & Writing and is currently pursuing her Master's degree focused on twice-exceptional learners, Special Education, and Gifted Education. 🎓🧠 Her background gives her a unique perspective on supporting students with a wide range of strengths and learning needs.

Outside of school, Mrs. Fougerousse loves hunting, fishing, and spending time with her husband and one-year-old. 🎣🦌❤️

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Fougerousse to the Buccaneer family and can't wait to see the impact she'll make at PCIS! ⚓🐾
