Riverview Spanish Immersion

Riverview Spanish Immersion Since it is not always possible to travel to an immersive environment, I have created one for you! Saludos! My name is Elizabeth Parada.

I am a native Spanish speaker and long-time Spanish teacher at Loomis Chaffee school in Windsor, CT. I have a Masters degree in Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, and a BA in Latin American Studies and Spanish Literature from Mount Holyoke College. I migrated from Bogotá, Colombia when I was 14 years old and my memories of suddenly being immersed in an English-only environment are quite vivid! While I knew a lot of English, it was not until I came to live in the U.S. that I had no choice but to communicate in my second language in order to function in school and in every social setting. This experience, challenging as it was, led to my English fluency. I want to replicate what an immersive language setting is for people who travel to a Spanish speaking country by offering an environment where only Spanish is spoken for all routine and special activities and events. Come and experience Spanish immersion in Connecticut!
