educators completed a five-day, hands-on, interactive IMSE Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Training presented by Ginger Handy, personalized to provide a complete understanding of IMSE’s enhanced Orton-Gillingham method and the tools necessary to apply it in the classroom as well as the importance of a Structured Literacy program. Teachers gained an understanding of the structure and foundation of the English language, how to assess and teach students in all three tiers of RTI including those with dyslexia, and evaluate and teach students in phonological skills, phonics/word recognition, spelling, writing, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
As an added bonus, teachers received a one-year subscription to Interactive OG, IMSE’s online lesson planning and assessment application. This tool will allow teachers to plan their own lessons, access a resource of master lessons, assess their students as individuals, groups, or whole class, and store it all in one easy-to-use program.

Emery Voris was our 5th grade role model of the week a few weeks ago!

The role model of the week is the person from each class that has shown great behavior, helped others in a positive way, shown leadership, and fairness. They get to put their name on the big bulletin board and receive a Tshirt from Mr. Will.
