The Windom Police Department would like to recognize Officer Wallace for the exceptional actions during a recent emergency involving a choking child.

Officer Wallace responded quickly, remained calm under pressure, and took immediate lifesaving action. Through decisive intervention and professionalism, she was able to successfully clear the child's airway.

This incident reflects the highest standards of public service and demonstrates the courage, training, and commitment our officers bring to the community every day. Officer Wallace's actions made a profound difference for this child and their family, and she deserves recognition for a job exceptionally well done.

The Windom Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the individual shown in the video below.

Investigators believe the individual stole a vehicle on July 10th taking the vehicle on a joyride, damaged it, and later returned it to the owner. Investigators also believe the same individual unlawfully entered another vehicle. Surveillance cameras captured these two incidents.

Over the past week, someone has damaged, unlawfully entered, or tampered with six vehicles in Windom.

In the two incidents caught on camera, which occurred four days apart, the suspect wore the same clothing.

-Appears to be a light-skinned male with curly or permed hair
-Light-colored hoodie with “ESSENTIALS” printed on the back
-Dark sweatpants
-Dark Crocs
-Dark facemask
-Protective work gloves

The Windom Police Department reminds residents to always lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables in plain view.
