🥔🌱 From Garden to Cafeteria! 🌱🥔

Today, the first-grade students at Austin Road Elementary School got to taste something extra special—fresh sweet potato chips made from the sweet potatoes they picked from their very own school garden last week! 💚

What an amazing hands-on experience! These students are learning where their food comes from, how it grows, and getting to enjoy the fruits (or should we say vegetables 😉) of their hard work!

We love seeing our students growing, harvesting, tasting, and learning! 🌱🥔❤️

🍠🌱 Growing, Learning & Harvesting! 🌱🍠

Yesterday, it was Ms. Jewell’s 1st grade class at Austin Road Elementary School who got their turn to harvest some sweet potatoes! 💚

We absolutely LOVE seeing our students learn where their food comes from and experience the entire process from planting and growing to harvesting and enjoying! 🌱👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Even better, these sweet potatoes will make their way to the school cafeteria to be served to our students! What a wonderful way to connect our classrooms, our gardens, and our school meals. 🍠🥗

Yesterday, students in Ms. Guo’s 1st grade class harvested the sweet potatoes they’ve been growing at Austin Road Elementary School! 🍠🌱

A special thank you to Ms. Rowe, the STEM teacher, for helping make this learning experience possible. This is only the beginning of the harvest! There’s more to come!

A huge thank you to Patrick Farms for generously providing our sweet potato starters! 🌱🍠

The cafeteria will be turning these fresh sweet potatoes into some delicious new items for our students and staff. We can’t wait to see and taste what they create! 🍠
