DID YOU KNOW?
Our rising 3rd-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students are beginning their first full-time clinical experience this week!
While this marks a big milestone, they’ve already been building hands-on experience throughout the program. Before reaching this point, students have completed three part-time clinical experiences, applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings and learning from practicing clinicians.
A huge thank you to our Clinical Instructors who welcome our students into their clinics, share their expertise, and help shape the next generation of physical therapists. Your mentorship makes these experiences possible! 👏
Join us in wishing our students luck as they take this exciting next step!

Shenandoah University PT students, Conner, Amanda, Lily, River, and Dr. Steph Mahan visited Wi******er Public Schools Innovation Center to demonstrate some of the high and low tech methods PTs can use to help our patients.

High school students in Mrs. Heba Frye’s OT/PT class participated in interactive activities to gain insight about balance, sensory organization, and how the vestibular system keeps our eyes stable so we see clearly when we are moving. Students had the opportunity to see inside their bodies with MSK ultrasound, and demonstrate how electrical stimulation can be used to contract their muscles to create functional movements.

The video is the SUPT students preparing for the visit by experiencing optokinetic nystagmus. Watch the eyes! 👀🕵️

It was a great day for golf at the 4th annual Move U! Adaptive Golf event. Held again at the Wi******er Country Club (WCC) participants and care partners enjoyed the day learning/re-learning/improving their golf under the guidance of golfers from the WCC, EAGA, VSGA, local Physical Therapists and SUPT students. We hope to hold more of these events in the coming year.
