And the good news for GRC keeps rolling in: Congratulations to the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble for ALSO being selected to perform at the 2027 KMEA conference. That's THREE ensembles--not only from the same district, but the same school--represented at KMEA. Three cheers for Mr. Edelen and Mr. Cook!
Seriously, folks, the fine arts at GRC and Clark County are where it's at. Come see our shows, concerts, workshops, showcases, exhibits, the whole bit. What a tremendous arts village.

It is with tremendous pride we can announce that the GRC Cardinal Singers have been selected to perform at the 2027 Kentucky Music Educators Association conference. This honor is several years in the making, and we couldn't be more excited. A selection committee chooses the KMEA ensembles among a very competitive group of applicants who submit blind audio recordings from the previous year. You can catch the Singers at the Louisville Cathedral of the Assumption on Thursday, February 4 at 3:40 p.m. Go (Singing) Cards!

Big congratulations to recent student teachers Ms. Daffron, Mr. Smalley, and Mr. Sturgill for being hired for teaching positions this fall. Ms. Daffron will be teaching at West Jessamine High School, Mr. Smalley at Raceland-Worthington High School, and Mr. Sturgill at Garrard Middle School. We're so proud of all of you! This continues the perfect streak of GRC's choir student teachers being employed as music teachers. Go Cards!

We were so lucky to have two outstanding student teachers with us this semester. Aria Daffron (University of Kentucky) and Logan Smalley (Morehead State) brought so much to our program, and we're excited to see them pursue their own careers. In fact, Ms. Daffron was recently hired as the new choral director at West Jessamine High School. Godspeed, friends! Remember that you're always a Cardinal at heart 🙂
