Sheridan Blau, former director of the South Coast Writing Project, has died. You may have worked with him in one of the several sessions he ran for the Northern Virginia Writing Project or been a devotee of his award-winning book The Literature Workshop.

We will miss his continual support and confidence in the intelligence of both teachers and students.

“The Shenandoah Writing Project provides a broad, useful, pragmatic, data-driven approach to teaching writing engagingly and authentically. It also provides a supportive community of fellow educators to boot. We need to meet each student where they are and lead them down their writing path, so they can better express themselves to others. The Shenandoah Writing Project provides excellent support for this goal.” ~Bruce Carlton, Shenandoah Valley Writing Project https://nwp.org/50
