Saying goodbye is truly the hardest part of a home daycare. They become part of your family that you see everyday/week. Then one day they just stop coming.😢💔

Another year and another daycare graduation. Today I said goodbye to one of my littles who is starting kindergarten this year (tomorrow).💙🎓
Saying goodbye is truly the hardest part of a home daycare.

There’s a push and pull to this season of starting school.

We want to pull them back—
Back to the day school let out, so we could live summer all over again.
Back to when they were small enough to fit in the crook of our arms.
Back to last year, when they were just a little younger, a little less grown, a little more dependent on us.

But we also push them forward—
Forward into another school year.
Forward toward new friends, new lessons, new adventures.
Forward into the independence we know they’re ready for… even if we’re not.

Because that’s what this season is—
A constant tug between holding on and letting go.
