This Saturday - Box Office Brewery Chess Club is holding a tournament! Check out the details. We hope you can make it!

Join us for chess Wednesday the 12th, at 6:30 as we return to the Box Office Brewery. We had a good time at the Brick House in Front Royal last week, but the Box Office is our home. As always, all levels of players are welcome.

Also, a reminder that our first Quad Tournament will be August 15th at the Backroom Brewery in Middletown! For some players this will be our first taste of tournament play, and we will be figuring out the clock, and score sheets. We will have some seasoned players too. Just like every regular club chess night, the atmosphere will be fun, respectful, and supportive. Your participation will help make our first event a success.

On Friday, The Pawn Project received a national award from the United States Chess Federation - Small Chess Club of the Year. The ceremony took place at the 2026 US Open in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where many other luminaries in American chess were recognized.

Congratulations to the De Luise family and the Purcellville, Virginia community. You inspired a nation. We are so honored, happy, and proud of you.

Thank you, US Chess, for your faithful support for all chess programs and players, regardless of size or skill level.

And to our Shenandoah Valley community of players, parents, educators, and friends - thank you all. This achievement is impossible without you.

Chess is more than a game.
