Students enjoy individualized learning plans, small math classes organized by ability rather than age, and high-engagement electives in science, tech, engineering and humanities. Acera, the Massachusetts School of Science, Creativity and Leadership is a progressive non-profit STEAM school serving high-ability students in grades K - 12th. At Acera, students learn by ability, not age: in a supportive, energetic environment, enabled by highly motivated teacher-entrepreneurs. Learning at Acera is contextual, interdisciplinary, and hands-on and often happens in our professionally equipped MakerSpace and Science Lab. In addition to our full-day programs, we offer after school and summer enrichment programs (open to both Acera and non-Acera students) through Acera's STEAM Learning Lab. Acera opens its doors to the community through:
• The Acera STEAM Learning Lab (after school & summer enrichment; weekend workshops)
• Acera’s Innovator Symposium
• Participating and hosting events at local STEAM festivals and forums (Cambridge Science Festival, Hubweek)
