This morning, the Shenco violin studio had the honor of having a masterclass with the violinists of the Jasper Quartet, J Freivogel and Karen Kim. Three of our studio member performed, and all got to partake in the amazing guidance from J and Karen.

This evening the ShenCo Violin studio had the honor of welcoming back a former student of Akemi Takayama. David McCormick spoke to the studio about African American musicians in Jefferson’s Virginia. As well as a demonstration of the evolution of the violin bow!

For the first week of class, the SU violin studio took a hike up to bears den to enjoy a picnic dinner, new introductions, and a beautiful sunset.

We thought of taking a picture after two players (Dean and Maddy) left, so this is only partial, but we had a great time performing together Brahms Sextet Op. 36 this afternoon!
