We had so much fun yesterday at Hill High Farm! We went on a hayride to a pumpkin patch where we got to pick pumpkins! We also got to pet some really nice farm animals and find our way out of a corn maze! It was really great to learn about community helpers and the plant life cycle!!

Students from Ms. Braun-Duin’s class were reviewing their benchmarks assessment taken the other day in Ms. Truitt’s room. There was a fun twist to it as teams tried to capture each other’s “flags”! The kids enjoy it and were able to really work with others to understand the correct answers. These students are making great strides!

John Kerr Elementary would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Claudio's Pizzeria for supporting our Cardinals and generously donating an AWESOME BIKE for our PBIS Grand-Prize Raffle!

❤️💙
Our students have been working hard to earn PBIS points by making positive choices, showing respect, being responsible, and demonstrating our SOAR expectations each and every day.

Those positive choices are going to pay off! Students will have opportunities to use their PBIS success to earn entries into our Grand-Prize Raffles, with bikes and even more exciting prizes up for grabs!

My class had a blast during the SOL Lab with Ms. Smith on Animal Adaptations and Graphing!
A very fun but also engaging way to review topics in their core classes.

We would like to shout out our head custodian, Mr. Tom from Sonrise Flower Farm, for discussing a plants life cycle and pollination. As well as Wi******er Floral who donated sunflowers to our entire second grade. They made learning come alive for over 100 students!

Today, Mrs. Jenkins’ class celebrated Custodian Appreciation Day!

Our students made a special sign to show our custodial crew just how much we appreciate everything they do for our school. We are so thankful for the people who work behind the scenes to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming every day!

We also had a pretty exciting moment at recess when we spotted an eagle sitting in a tree! Of course, we had to show Mr. Tom, too!

We are so lucky to have such a hardworking and caring custodial crew taking care of our school and our students. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Tom and our entire custodial team! We appreciate you more than you know!
