This week, we want to take a special moment to send a massive shoutout to our incredible food service team here at Frederick Douglass Elementary School!
Whether they are working hard behind the scenes prepping warm breakfasts and lunches, or greeting our students with a smile on the serving line, this team keeps FDES running. From managing the daily lunch rush to ensuring our students have the nutritious meals they need to fuel their learning, their dedication truly shines through.
Thank you to our amazing cafeteria staff for your early mornings, your hard work, and the care you put into serving our students every single day. We appreciate you!

This week FDES hosted the Scholastic Book Fair. All week students were excited to get the opportunity to get their hands on some amazing books! Thanks to Ms. Davis for all of her work in making this such a success! And, if your student has one more book on their mind, there will be one more opportunity when the book fair is open during Parent/Student/Teacher conferences!

To kick off a three day weekend for the students, FDES hosted STEAM Night! Thank you to all of the families, teachers and The Discovery Museum for giving us all an opportunity to have fun with Science!!

Today FDES was visited by Raging Reptiles. Our students had a lot of fun getting to learn about snakes and lizards!
