Applications for the Hope Scholarship for the 2026-2027 school year are now open! Head over to the Hope Scholarship Web site to get started.

You must apply by June 15 to receive 100 percent of the scholarship.

The scholarship amount is expected to be $5,435.62 for the 2026-2027 school year.

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP applications are now being accepted for the
2026-2027 academic year!

Urgent! They want to make it harder for you to get the money! Call your rep. by tomorrow to preserve the HOPE scholarship in West Virginia: They are currently working on a bill that would limit the HOPE Scholarship. It would also bring unnecessary restrictions on this item that is already working well for the people. To many, this seems to be a direct assault on families in WV. This legislation does not improve or fix anything, while seriously tampering with the components that make the HOPE Scholarship viable for working families. This bill is moving fast, but it's not too late to do something. Please call the house finance committee members TODAY and ask them to VOTE NO on the House Finance Originating Bill and to defend the HOPE Scholarship in its original version. Word has it that a vote on this can come as early as tomorrow. Please make your voice heard.

WV HOPE SCHOLARSHIP INFO DIRECT FROM THE STATE:

"The Hope Scholarship Program has released a form for students who will be newly eligible for the 2026-2027 school year to request a WVEIS ID # to be prepared for their application next spring. The same form will be used if you need to request a WVEIS ID # for an incoming kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year. Due to the high volume of potential students who need to request a WVEIS ID #, we encourage you to complete the WVEIS ID Request Form as soon as possible to ensure that the county board of education has sufficient time to provide the number in advance of the application window opening. Please refer to the instructions found here for more information regarding the form and how to submit it. If you already know your student’s existing WVEIS ID # for the Hope Scholarship application, there is no need to complete the form"

Continued Participation Confirmations (CPCs) for 2026-2027
The Continued Participation Confirmation (CPC) form is now available on the online portal for current Hope Scholarship participants wishing to continue with the program during the 2026-2027 school year. CPCs will be accepted from January 5 to June 15, 2026, for 100% funding for the 2026-2027 school year. Failure to submit a CPC by June 15, 2026 will result in closure of a student’s account and loss of any carryover funds. Students will be able to apply as new applicants for a reduced funding amount after June 15.

Existing Hope Scholarship participants are strongly encouraged to submit their CPCs during January or February 2026 to beat the rush of new applications in March when approximately 20,000 students will be newly eligible for the program.
