Continued or egregious violations may prompt FCPS to further restrict an individual’s commenting on official FCPS social media platforms. FCPS will not remove content simply because it disagrees with the user’s viewpoint or the user criticizes FCPS. Comment Removal Procedure
The FCPS social media platforms are administered by designated staff. When designated staff suspect a violation of these terms and conditions, the Director will be notified and will review and authorize removal of a comment when appropriate. At the June 16 meeting of the Frederick County Public Schools School Board, the Gainesboro PTO was recognized as an Excellent Community Partner. Our PTO is absolutely awesome, and officers Heather Henderlite, Kerri Nassano, and Ashley Vensoske work tirelessly to make GES a better place!
In his nominating statement, Dr. Reeves wrote: "These three people ARE the PTO, and they have busted their tailfeathers for the eagles all year. They have undertaken the work of an entire group as a trio. From refiling their state paperwork to rewriting the bylaws, from fundraising for our Ernestine the Eagle mascot costume to some truly incredible events, the GES PTO has been a world-class partner in our community building work."
Thank you to our incredible PTO leadership for their countless hours of dedication to our learning family!

The first blueberries from the Learning Garden are deeeee-licious! Yesterday we met with Ms. Roy, a champion of Future Farmers of America (FFA), as we begin to look at PK-12 cooperative efforts at Gainesboro. We discussed a learning orchard, raised beds, and more, as we look toward sustainable practices, our EcoSchools program, and ensuring the deep agricultural and horticultural roots of our community thrive at GES!

Thank you to the entire faculty and staff for such a remarkable job this past year!
The first flower in the Learning Garden has poked up! 🥰 Just in time for National Pollinator Month!

Every second counts! While 25-26 is in the books, we're already writing the first pages of 26-27. Gainesboro saw some remarkable gains in some key areas this year. The Instructional Leadership Team will meet with other squads from Frederick County Public Schools this week at Robert E. Aylor Middle School, coming together to get some of the big pieces put away from this last year and get big pieces built to start the new.
We have that sense of urgency, we have our mission, and we're ready to start rocking the new school year. In the meantime, while we're doing our leadership jobs, y'all should do yours: Maximize down time with family, friends, and loved ones, recharge your batteries, and read read read!

When Dr. Reeves visited our fellow Eagles at Alexander Elementary in Greenville, SC earlier this year to learn about their successes, one of the Kindergarten teachers there said something that has stuck with him ever since: "We can teach anywhere; we can make a difference here."
It's a fitting motto for our 90th anniversary celebration as that ninetieth year comes to a close today, and what better timing for our anniversary swag!
On behalf of a grateful Administration, Dr. Reeves and Ms. Moody extend their heartfelt thanks to our Eagles students, families, staff, and community partners, as well as our colleagues and supporters at Frederick County Public Schools, as we strive to continue our school improvement efforts, meeting the every need of every Eagle every day.
Thank you for welcoming us with open arms into your community! It is a privilege and a pleasure to serve you proudly. Here's to continued soaring to ever-greater heights, Eagles!
Have a terrific summer!

The “HOLD” status at Gainesboro Elementary School has ended. Students and staff remained safe and the school day will resume as usual.
05/28/2026
Gainesboro Elementary School has been placed in a “HOLD” status due to an isolated student medical emergency. A “HOLD” status means that students remain in their classrooms until the situation is resolved. Please do not call the school, individual students, or attempt to go to the school and pick up students. Phone calls and additional traffic at the school will only hinder the response to the situation. We will provide updates every 15 to 20 minutes.
