After reading Our Class Is a Family, students shared thoughtful ideas about how we can care for, encourage, and support one another. From helping a friend to showing kindness and including everyone, our little sharks are ready to make our classroom a welcoming place for all! 🫶

The amazing Marco Shemwell Foundation does so much to bring smiles to Shearer students and children across our community through their wonderful Birthday Boxes! 🎁✨

Their upcoming Birthday Box Packing Party is right around the corner, and they need our help to keep the magic going! Whether you’d like to jump in and help pack boxes or donate supplies to ensure every child feels celebrated on their special day, your support makes a huge difference.

We are so incredibly blessed in Clark County to have partners like the Wi******er Kiwanis. They do so much to uplift our students and families, especially through their wonderful Walk with a Child program, which directly supports local families when they need it most. 💙

Now, we have a unique and fun way to give back! The Kiwanis are hosting a Butterfly Carving Class to raise funds for Walk with a Child.

🦈 Wow, what a JAW-SOME first day of school! 🦈

It was truly "all hands on deck" today at Shearer Elementary, and our amazing Shark community absolutely crushed it! From the first morning bell to the final afternoon wave goodbye, the energy was incredible.

We want to send a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made today a swimming success:

Central Office Staff: For the extra leadership, support, and helping hands on the ground.
Our Phenomenal School Staff & Teachers: For welcoming our little Sharks with open arms, big smiles, and endless enthusiasm.
Our Custodial Crew: For keeping our school sparkling clean and safe.
Our Transportation Team: For getting our students to and from school safely (and navigating that first-day traffic like pros!).
Our Food Service Team: For keeping everyone fueled up and ready to learn with delicious meals.

It takes a whole village—and a whole school of fish—to make day one this special. We are so proud of our Sharks and can’t wait to dive back into learning tomorrow! 🌊

There’s nothing quite like the energy before the first day of school! Today, our staff reconnected with our community during our annual tour and refreshed our skills to make this school year the best one yet.

A special thank you to Jeff, our CCPS bus driver, for leading the way, and to Patti and her team at DQ for treating our staff to breakfast sandwiches this morning—your support means the world to us! ❤️

The classrooms are ready, the halls are waiting, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow morning.
