After our initial ECSE Drive-By Graduation Parade was rained out, we were thrilled to finally celebrate our littlest learners last week! Each student heading to kindergarten was recognized with a diploma, a medal, and a special book to commemorate this important milestone.
Families joined in the fun by decorating their cars, while teachers lined the front of the school to cheer on and celebrate each graduate. It was a joyful event filled with smiles, excitement, and pride as we honored our students and wished them well on their next adventure, kindergarten!

This week, our elementary students participated in a schoolwide lemonade stand project that incorporated academics, functional life skills, and social interaction in a fun and meaningful way!
All three classes worked together to prepare lemonade and popcorn while practicing important math and daily living skills. Students explored fractions by cutting lemons into halves, fourths, sixths, and eighths, and practiced adding fractions while measuring and combining ingredients like sugar, water, and lemon juice. They also worked on cooking, prepping, measuring, and cleaning skills throughout the activity.
Our older students took on additional responsibilities by helping run the lemonade stand. They practiced counting money and making change while cashiering, as well as measuring ounces when filling lemonade cups and scooping popcorn servings. Students also strengthened their communication and social skills by greeting customers, taking orders, asking about toppings, and interacting with community members.
One of the highlights of the day was serving our local police officers and firefighters — and as an extra treat, the students even got to check out the fire truck! 🚒🍋🍿

Throughout the day, many prizes. gift cards gift baskets sponsored by our NREP families were also given out to staff. Thank you to all of our wonderful families and to Mrs. Sharon Cline for helping make the week extra special for both our staff and students!
