I’ve been a little quiet lately because big things were happening! I’m thrilled to announce that I will not be working part time at our beautiful library here in Wi******er, the Handley Regional Library! I will still be working with a small number of tutoring students, but unfortunately will not be able to take any new students on for the rest of 2024 as I adjust to this new role. Stay tuned for openings in 2025, and if you happen to be local, come say hi to me at the Library! 🎉📚

Happy Mountain day to all the Smithie's out there! My favorite way to spend a mountain day is outside, picking apples, basking in the sun, and eating cider donuts. Hoping to hit at least 2 of the three on this rainy day in VA! 🍎🍏🍩🍩🍂🍁

One of my favorite activites in my classroom was letting my student raid the dress up bin and put on French skits to showcase what they learned. Today that’s exactly what we did with one of my homeschool students- but this time I got to raid the dress ups too! 💃🇫🇷

It’s hard to believe that summer for our southeast students is almost over! Our summer so far has been full of tutoring and toddler milestones. 🥳

We hope everyone is having a great summer! ⛱ Summer Tutoring sessions are fewer than during the school year, so I'm able to spend lots of time outside with my daughter- our favorite summer activities include anything with water and learning french vocabulary whenever we can! 🌊☀️

Did you know that some schools will let you skip a level of language if you work with a tutor to complete the course? One of our summer students is working to skip to French 2 next year! Its a lot of work to fit a course into a summer: we meet two times a week, and the student has to be driven to work hard outside of class as well. 🌞📖🇫🇷
