"I believe that as part of being called to be salt and light, that we need to preserve our heritage, history and culture. This includes shining a light on significant events, even when they make you uncomfortable". Jeffrey is a 6th generation Texan descended from Green Dewitt colonists, along with being part Choctaw. The title of the site comes from one of his award winning books which originated at a book signing in Rosenburg, Texas. A patron approached him, asking "Is it true Texas history?" The question surprised me at first, then I realized that so much history had been manufactured, turned into romance novels and movies, that people had lost contact with true Texas history.
