About Lauren:
Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Renaissance language and literature from Yale University in 1986. She went on to do her doctorate in Italian and French Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cornell University, where she received a full, merit based scholarship. While at Cornell, Lauren taught literature and writing to undergraduates. She also was engaged in writing recommendations for her students, and reading incoming graduate school applications. Since graduating in 1997, Lauren has maintained a small, private counseling service wherein she has taken on several students per year and has guided them through the college or graduate school application process. A short list of the college and graduate school acceptances Lauren’s students received follows. In addition, since 2004 Lauren has worked with her alma mater as an alumni interviewer. In this capacity, she has not only worked directly with the Yale Admissions Office giving interviews to perspective applicants, but she has been the beneficiary of ongoing seminars given by the admissions department on both the art of the interview, as well as the admissions process in general. Now that 2 of Lauren’s 3 children are in college themselves, Lauren has decided to open her services up to the public.
