Simple toys invite rich imagination. A silk can become a cape, a river, or a cozy bed for a doll. Wooden blocks transform into houses, boats, and animal homes. When toys do less, children do more—creating stories, solving problems, and strengthening creativity through play.

Topics include:
🌟 The phases of adolescence and how these may be expressed and anticipated.
🌟 The similarities and the differing needs of boys and girls.
🌟 An overview of addictive tendencies and how to meet them in creative ways.
🌟 And the defining the roles played within peer groups.

Space is limited, so plan to arrive early!

This play was a significant undertaking for the students, and they performed marvelously. Bravo!

At our Starry Night Gala, parents, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to dine, dance, and raise their paddles in celebration of our beloved school.

Together, our community raised more than $160,000 in support of High Mowing School! These funds will help replace the aging windows in our main building on the Pine Hill campus and strengthen the Medallion Scholarship, which provides tuition support for students continuing their Waldorf education through high school at High Mowing.

The energy in the room was incredible—from the lively auction and generous paddle raise to the spirited “last hero” finale. And when the music started, the dance floor stayed full as we truly danced the night away, a joyful reflection of the warmth and spirit of this community. 💚🤍

Grade 8 students are hard at work on their master copies! 🎨

As the culmination of their fine arts journey, each student selects a famous painting to carefully reproduce—studying technique, detail, and composition along the way. Their finished pieces will be matted and proudly displayed at the end-of-year Stepping Up ceremony.

Señor Brito’s grade 6 Spanish class took learning from the classroom to the kitchen!

Using the high school’s commercial kitchen, students made Venezuelan arepas from scratch—then filled them with butter, cheese, and avocado. A delicious (and hands-on) way to explore Spanish-speaking culture with Señor Brito.

Our Parent and Child Classes start next week!

These sweet, nurturing classes are for the youngest children and their parents seeking a slower, more intentional beginning. 💚🤍

✨ Our Babies Class - offered Thursdays from 11-12 - is rooted in Waldorf and RIE philosophy and the work of Magda Ge**er, with a strong emphasis on self-directed movement, observation, and trust in the baby’s natural development. Babies from 3-10 months are given space to move freely on the floor without devices, seats, or entertainment, while parents learn to slow down, observe, and support their baby’s growing competence and body awareness.

✨ Two toddler classes for walking children up to 36 months are offered Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. We work and play together, celebrate the seasons, and enjoy songs, stories, and seasonal crafts and activities.

We still have a few spots remaining in this beautiful first community for parents and their little ones!
