🎶 Fun Fact: Suite Modale was composed for flutist Elaine Shaffer. John Wummer, then principal flutist of the New York Philharmonic premiered it in 1957, and Shaffer gave the European premiere that same year in London. Bloch later arranged Suite Modale for flute and orchestra, and flutist Frances Blaisdell gave that version's world premiere in 1958 at Town Hall in New York City.
