๐ WCA Teacher Spotlight: Lauryn Saunders ๐
Some moments remind us just how special the WCA family truly is. Friday was one of those moments. ๐ฅฐ
"Mrs. Hill taught 4th grade at Wilson Christian Academy many years agoโlong before I was even a student here. She was also my pastorโs wife for the 50 years he served as pastor of Shenandoah, until my dad stepped into the role of lead pastor in 2018.
Mrs. Hill has been such a special part of my life. She was my Sunday School teacher, my VBS leader, and the person behind countless programs and activities at church. Even as her health has declined in recent years, she continues to do whatever she is able to serve and encourage others.
So, when she found out that I would be teaching 4th grade, she was absolutely overjoyed! โค๏ธ
Friday, she and her sonโwho also attended WCAโcame by to visit me and brought some goodies for my classroom. What a sweet surprise! ๐
My students were in awe when they learned that Mrs. Hill had once stood in the very same position I am in now, teaching 4th grade at WCA many years ago.
It was such an encouraging and meaningful moment for me. To have someone who made such a lasting impact on my life come back and encourage me as I begin this new chapter is something I won't soon forget.
Mrs. Hill has impacted the lives of countless children over the years, and now I have the incredible opportunity to pour into the next generation just as she did." ๐๐
What a beautiful reminder that the seeds we plant in the lives of children can continue to grow for generations.
Thank you, Mrs. Hill, for loving, teaching, serving, and leaving a legacy that continues to make a difference. We are so thankful for you! ๐ฅฐ
