Good evening, New Hope families! This is Mrs. Simons with your announcements for the week.

We are so excited to welcome our students back to campus! Our staff has worked diligently to prepare the building, and we cannot wait for our Knights to return. As we begin our first week of school, I have a few important reminders for our families.

First, Kindergarten will have staggered enrollment. Some Kindergarten students will attend on Monday, and the remaining students will attend on Tuesday. Beginning Wednesday, all Kindergarten students will attend school each day.

Wilson County Schools allows elementary parents and guardians to walk their child into the building during the first week of school. If you plan to walk your child inside, please park in our parking lot and walk your child into the building. Please do not park across the street and attempt to cross the busy road. We want to make sure everyone arrives safely.

For afternoon dismissal, students will not be permitted to walk out to the parking lot to meet a parent or guardian. All vehicles picking up students must come through the car line. If you park and walk up to pick up your child, a staff member will ask you to return to your vehicle and enter the car line. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and organized.

Please make sure you and your child have reviewed the Student and Family Handbook, which can be found on our school website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Students may enter the building beginning at 7:30 a.m., and afternoon dismissal will begin at 3:00 p.m. If you need to check your child out early, please remember that early checkouts must take place before 2:30 p.m.

As a reminder there is a $30 technology usage fee that must be paid every year. You can send the $30 cash with your child to school or you can pay online. If you feel you may qualify for assistance in waiving the fee, please complete the form that can be found on our page and in Dojo.

Finally, we know it is going to be a great first week of school! We do ask everyone to please extend a little extra patience and grace with car line and bus times during these first few days. We will be working through transportation changes, enrolling new students, and making adjustments to ensure our arrival and dismissal procedures run as smoothly and safely as possible.

Here Comes the Bus App Information 🚍

Here Comes the Bus is a free, school bus tracking app that gives families real-time bus location information and alerts to get students to the bus stop on time.

Steps for downloading the app:
1. DOWNLOAD THE APP
Search “Here Comes The Bus” in the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. ADD YOUR STUDENT
Add your student using their UID number found in Infinite Campus.

3. FIND THEIR BUS ON THE MAP
See your student’s bus location in real-time and know when it’s arriving. (Once bus routes are available).

There were so many smiles, excited teachers, students, and families filling our building, and we couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead! 🎉📚

Good evening, New Hope families! This is Mrs. Simons, your principal, with our announcements for the week.

We are so excited to prepare for another fantastic school year! While the first day of school isn’t until Monday, August 24, we have a few important events happening this week that we want to make sure you know about.

We hope you’ve been following us on social media throughout the summer for updates and back-to-school information!

On Monday, August 17th, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., we will have our drive-through classroom assignment pickup. Families can drive through the car line and receive a card showing their child’s classroom assignment for the upcoming school year.

Please keep in mind that our class rosters have been finalized. Our staff and administration have given careful consideration to each child’s placement based on individual needs and to create the best possible learning environment for all students. Also, if your child’s required enrollment documents have not been provided to the school, your child will not yet appear on a class roster.

Then, on Thursday, August 20, from 4:00–6:00 p.m., we will host our Open House! We invite you to come out and meet your child’s teacher, make sure your Parent Portal information is up to date, ask questions about transportation, and purchase New Hope shirts from our wonderful PTO.

We’ve also posted information online about how families can pay the annual $30 technology usage fee before school begins.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year, and I can’t wait to see all of my Knights this week!
