Announcements for the upcoming week...October 12.

This week is the last week of the first quarter. School will be closed for students Friday, as it is a teacher workday for staff.

Parents, as sickness begins to rise, please be reminded that if students are running a fever, have diarrhea, or are vomiting, they should stay home for 24 hours without medication prior to returning to school. We want to ensure everyone stays as healthy as possible during this time.

Esta semana marca el último tramo del primer periodo de nueve semanas. La escuela permanecerá cerrada para los alumnos el viernes, ya que es una jornada de trabajo para el personal docente.

Padres de familia: ante el aumento de enfermedades, les recordamos que si los estudiantes presentan fiebre, diarrea o vómitos, deben permanecer en casa durante 24 horas sin medicación antes de regresar a la escuela. Queremos asegurarnos de que todos se mantengan lo más sanos posible durante este tiempo.

Announcements for the upcoming week...October 5.

Candy Man orders have been fulfilled and are ready for pick up at Rock Ridge Tuesday afternoon! Candy Man pick up will take place in the gym at Rock Ridge beginning at 2:30 Tuesday, October 6. You may pick items up until 6:00 that afternoon. We encourage everyone to come on out Tuesday to pick up your items.

Fall Festival T-Shirt sales end Tuesday, October 6. If you would like to purchase a short sleeve or long sleeve Fall Festival shirt, please send the order form and money to school with your child Monday or Tuesday of this week. There will be very few extra shirts ordered this year; therefore, if you'd like a shirt, please be sure to order now.

This week, we will extend learning outside of the classroom for two grade levels as field trips begin. Our fourth grade students and third grade students will both experience hands-on learning this week. If you have questions regarding either of these trips, please contact your child's teacher.

Avisos para la próxima semana... 5 de octubre.

¡Los pedidos de Candy Man ya están listos para ser recogidos en Rock Ridge este martes por la tarde! La entrega de los pedidos se realizará en el gimnasio de Rock Ridge a partir de las 2:30 p. m. del martes 6 de octubre. Podrán recoger sus artículos hasta las 6:00 p. m. de ese mismo día. Les animamos a todos a pasar el martes a recoger sus pedidos.

La venta de camisetas para el Festival de Otoño finaliza el martes 6 de octubre. Si desea comprar una camiseta del festival (de manga corta o larga), por favor envíe el formulario de pedido y el dinero a la escuela con su hijo(a) el lunes o el martes de esta semana. Este año se pedirán muy pocas camisetas adicionales; por lo tanto, si desea una, asegúrese de hacer su pedido ahora.

Esta semana llevaremos el aprendizaje fuera del aula para dos niveles de grado con el inicio de las excursiones escolares. Tanto los alumnos de cuarto grado como los de tercero participarán en actividades de aprendizaje práctico esta semana. Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre cualquiera de estas excursiones, por favor comuníquese con el maestro o la maestra de su hijo(a).

Announcements for the upcoming week...September 28.

Picture day this past Friday was a success. Our students had great smiles!! Just as a reminder, your child brought home a QR code slip Friday. This week, you are welcome to scan that QR code to see a proof of your child's picture.

This Thursday, October 1, we will have our Fall Festival Parent Meeting at 5:30 in the media center at Rock Ridge. Please come out and join us if you'd like to be a part of our Fall Festival Planning. That same evening, at 6:30, our teachers will host our annual K - 5 reading night. We ask that you come out and support your child in learning what reading looks like in their grade level, as well as how to help at home.

Friday, October 2nd, all Fall Festival Sponsorships are due to the front office by 4:00 pm.

Anuncios para la próxima semana... 28 de septiembre.

El día de las fotos del viernes pasado fue todo un éxito. ¡Nuestros estudiantes lucieron radiantes! Les recordamos que su hijo/a trajo a casa un comprobante con un código QR el viernes. Esta semana, pueden escanear ese código QR para ver la foto de su hijo/a.

Este jueves 1 de octubre, tendremos nuestra reunión de padres del Festival de Otoño a las 5:30 p. m. en el centro multimedia de Rock Ridge. Los invitamos a acompañarnos si desean participar en la planificación del Festival de Otoño. Esa misma tarde, a las 6:30 p. m., nuestros maestros organizarán nuestra noche anual de lectura para los grados K-5. Los invitamos a asistir y apoyar a sus hijos en el aprendizaje de la lectura en su nivel escolar, así como en la ayuda en casa.

El viernes 2 de octubre, todos los patrocinios del Festival de Otoño deben entregarse en la oficina principal antes de las 4:00 p. m.

Announcements for the upcoming week...September 21st.

We will continue helping our kindergarten students see colors throughout their environment this week. The whole school participated last week and it was wonderful!! I encourage you all to continue to participate this week. Monday is purple day, Tuesday is pink day, Wednesday is brown day, Thursday is grey day, and Friday is a day of many colors, as it is picture day.

All Candy Man money and order forms are due tomorrow, Monday, September 21st. Please send all order forms and money to school with your child. If you sold online, please make a note of that on the outside of the envelope. Additionally, double check to ensure you submit the family plan paper if your family opted for this. Also on Monday, progress reports will come home with child. Please review his or her current progress and feel free to reach out to your child's teacher with questions or concerns.

Tuesday, our PTO will provide treats to the staff for the first Hospitality Treat day of the year. If you signed up to provide a treat, please be sure it is at Rock Ridge no later than 10:00 am on Tuesday, the 22nd. We appreciate all of those who have offered to assist. Also on Tuesday, Fall Festival T-Shirt order forms will come home with your child. Orders are due back October 6th. Please be reminded that if you own a business, or know someone who does, and they'd like to sponsor our Fall Festival, sponsorships are due Friday, October 2nd. Also, I ask that you mark your calendars for Thursday, October 1st. We will have a Fall Festival Parent Planning Meeting, followed by our K - 5 Reading Night. We appreciate any and all who will come out to help us plan the Fall Festival. It will be here before we know it!

As mentioned earlier, Fall Picture Day will take place Friday, September 25. Please send all order forms and money to school with your child Friday. You are also welcome to pay online, whichever is easier for you.

Esta semana continuaremos ayudando a nuestros alumnos de kínder a identificar colores en su entorno. ¡Toda la escuela participó la semana pasada y fue maravilloso! Los animo a todos a seguir participando esta semana. El lunes es el día del color morado, el martes del rosa, el miércoles del marrón, el jueves del gris y el viernes será un día de muchos colores, ya que es el día de la fotografía escolar.

El dinero y los formularios de pedido de "Candy Man" deben entregarse mañana, lunes 21 de Septiembre. Por favor, envíe todos los formularios y el dinero a la escuela con su hijo. Si realizó ventas en línea, anótelo en la parte exterior del sobre. Además, asegúrese de incluir el documento del "plan familiar" si su familia optó por esta opción. Thank you for taking the time to help make sure our staff at Rock Ridge can enjoy a monthly lunch that is truly well deserved!

We appreciate all of the families who are helping make these monthly meals a success. Taking care of our Rock Ridge staff is the least we can do to show our appreciation for all of their hard work, dedication, and the time they give to ensure our children and grandchildren receive the best education possible.

Please sign up for whatever you are able to bring. Items should be dropped off at Rock Ridge on September 22nd before 10:00 AM.

We are also looking for volunteers to help set up the food and decorations, as well as volunteers to help clean up afterward. Set up would be at 10:30 am and clean up would be at 2 pm. Set up will include organizing food, set up decor and ensure everything is labled and ready.

Announcements for the upcoming week...September 14.

Our kindergarten students will begin recognizing colors throughout their natural environment for the next two weeks. Please join us in sharing specific colors for specific days. Monday will be red day; Tuesday will be orange day; Wednesday will be yellow day; Thursday will be green day; and Friday will be blue day.

Students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade will continue their beginning of the year mClass assessments this week. Students are working hard and we are seeing a lot of good data thus far.

This is the last full week of our Candy Man Fundraiser! All order forms and money are due to Rock Ridge Monday, September 21st.

This week in Tuesday folders, you will receive a Fall Festival Sponsorship Form. If you work for or own a business and would like to be a Fall Festival Sponsor, please complete the form and send it back to school before October 2nd. We look forward to partnering with our local businesses this year!

I would like to take a moment to ask a really important favor of our parents who come through our carline in the morning or the afternoon. I know everyone is busy and we work hard to move the line along quickly; however, it's extremely important that you not pass other cars in the carline. Please take a moment to be patient with the littles who might need an extra minute in the carline and as always, when exiting the parking lot, please remember to turn right.

Anuncios para la próxima semana... 14 de septiembre.

Durante las próximas dos semanas, nuestros alumnos de kínder comenzarán a reconocer los colores en su entorno natural. Les invitamos a compartir colores específicos para cada día. El lunes será el día del rojo; el martes, el del naranja; el miércoles, el del amarillo; el jueves, el del verde; y el viernes, el del azul.

Los alumnos de kínder a quinto grado continuarán esta semana con sus evaluaciones de inicio de año en mClass. Los alumnos están trabajando arduamente y hasta el momento estamos viendo muy buenos resultados.

¡Esta es la última semana completa de nuestra campaña de recaudación de fondos "El Vendedor de Dulces"! Todos los formularios de pedido y el dinero deben entregarse en Rock Ridge el lunes 21 de septiembre.

Esta semana, en las carpetas del martes, recibirán un formulario de patrocinio para el Festival de Otoño. Si trabajan o son dueños de un negocio y desean patrocinar el Festival de Otoño, completen el formulario y envíenlo a la escuela antes del 2 de octubre. ¡Esperamos colaborar con los negocios locales este año!

Quisiera tomarme un momento para pedirles un favor muy importante a los padres que pasan por la fila de autos por la mañana o por la tarde. Sé que todos están ocupados y nos esforzamos por agilizar la fila; sin embargo, es sumamente importante que no adelanten a otros autos. Por favor, tengan paciencia con los niños pequeños que puedan necesitar un minuto más en la fila y, como siempre, al salir, recuerden girar a la derecha.
