Good evening Jaguar families! This is Mrs. Huneycutt, your child's principal, welcoming everyone back for an exciting year of learning at Jones! As we begin our year together I have a few important announcements and reminders. All parents are welcome to walk their child to class on Monday. Remember you must park your car in a parking space to do so. Please do not park your car in carline. If you plan to walk your child to class, please walk to the flagpole and cross over at the crosswalk. Our carline crew will signal when it is safe to cross over to the building. This is for the safety of all of our students and their parents. Our staff will be wearing their Jones t-shirts tomorrow so you can easily identify a staff member to ask questions should you have them. Our doors open at 7:30. All students are provided a free breakfast and lunch again this year. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:00 am. Class begins promptly at 8:00. Students who enter the building after 8:00 are considered tardy and must be checked in at the front office. If you do not know who your child's teacher is, please stop by the front office first to ensure your child is enrolled and to receive this information. Dismissal is at 3:00 pm. Please be patient with us the first week of school as we will be adjusting students' transportation schedules this first week. You should expect delays in carline and possible bus schedules. If your child rides a bus, please be at your child's bus stop 20 minutes early as drivers will be adjusting times as students are added to and removed from their bus routes this first week of school. As a reminder, Kindergarten students are on staggered entry. Your child's kindergarten teacher should have informed you of your child's first day at Jones. All Kindergarten students will come to school on Wednesday. We do have one change to our parking lot this year. At the end of the morning carline drop off our service road will be locked and secured. This means at 8:00 am the service road gates will be locked. Cars will no longer be able to use the service road during the school day from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm. The service road will be unlocked for afternoon dismissal. This change is to keep our 3-5 students safe when they are at recess and to cut down on cross property and thru traffic during the school day. Thank you for your support!
