Our first week of staggered entry is underway!

Yesterday one of our parents told us that her son got in the car and said, “Mom, I feel like they understand me”.

That’s one of the biggest compliments that we can receive from a parent or a student.

Today we welcome our middle and high school students.

Welcome Back Students and Staff! Happy First Day of School. Check out our weekly newsletter here:http://bit.ly/3Rr6A6D

One of the questions we hear most often is, "How do you handle challenging behaviors?"

At GAA, we understand that behavior is a form of communication. Many challenging behaviors are connected to an unmet need. When we take the time to understand each student, we're better able to identify that need and respond in a way that helps them succeed.

For example, Ayden does his best work when he has opportunities for additional mental stimulation throughout the day. Taking a few minutes to complete a puzzle helps him regulate, refocus, and return ready to learn.

Our educators are trained to be flexible and responsive, using individualized strategies that give every student the support they need to be successful.

Back in May, our elementary students took a trip to Marbles Museum in Raleigh, NC! It felt like every school in North Carolina had the same idea that day, so it was super busy. Thankfully, our amazing parent volunteers helped keep everyone together, safe, and having fun.

The kids had an absolute blast, and that's what GAA is all about. Learning, making memories, and building community along the way.

As we count down to the 2027-2028 school year, we'll be sharing more fun moments from last year that we never got around to posting. Stay tuned!

HAPPY TEACHER'S APPRECIATION WEEK! It takes a truly special teacher to serve at GAA, one with a big heart and an even bigger purpose.

Our teachers welcome children and families who may have once felt like they didn’t belong and help them find a place where they do.

At GAA, students are loved, supported, understood, and welcomed.

They are not simply tolerated, they are seen, valued, and cared for every single day.

Our teachers go above and beyond to make learning meaningful, to build confidence, and to create a school environment where students genuinely want to be.

Thank you, GAA teachers. You are the heart behind everything we do.

Although we are a private school, we stand in unity with teachers across North Carolina and beyond.
Teachers give so much every day and deserve to be valued, supported, and heard.
In solidarity, Great Accomplishments Academy will be closed on Friday.
Thank you for your understanding.

🎓 GAA Graduate Spotlight: Joshua Bates
Joshua Bates graduated from Great Accomplishments Academy in 2023, and his journey is one we are incredibly proud to share.
Joshua joined GAA in the 9th grade when his mother was searching for a smaller, more supportive classroom environment where he could truly thrive……and he did just that. From the very beginning, Josh proved to be a hardworking student who was always eager to grow and improve himself.
After graduation, Joshua took a year to reset and relocate with his family to Virginia. He is now attending Richard Bland College of William & Mary, where he lives on campus and continues to excel academically.
Joshua has maintained a 3.0 GPA and is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology.
We are proud of you, Joshua! Your dedication and perseverance continue to inspire us all. đź’™
