If you have not had your tux/drape pictures done yet, remember to sign up for the October 7th make up date here at Hunt. This is the last chance to have your picture in the yearbook. Here's the link to sign up for pictures.

***Once you click the link above and get to the website click Start Booking. It will take you to enter your high school and you need to type James Hunt High School and click Let's Go. Scroll to the bottom of the next page & select the Simple package at $29.00 for the Tux/Drape option. It will also let you select one more pose. Click on No Thanks for any other option it asks you about. Now click Continue To Schedule. Make sure to click School for the location and then click 10/7 on the calendar & select your time slot. On the next screen click Lose Discounts & continue to checkout. Say No Thanks to the exclusive add ons. Create an account and enter your payment & your session will be booked.***

The FFA Tar River Federation Tractor and Truck Driving events were held Thursday night at the Wilson County Fair.

Ryan C and Eli D represented Hunt in the tractor driving competition, with Ryan placing 3rd. Jackson P and Valerie R competed in the truck-driving competition.

All of these students did an outstanding job representing Hunt! We are proud of their hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to our FFA team! 🎉 The Hunt FFA Vet Science team competed on Saturday and placed 12th out of 56 teams from around the state. Alaynna I. individual had the highest score in the state out of 224 students. Team members had to identify parasites, animal breeds and vet equipment. Team members also had to take a vet math practicum test and a general knowledge test on Veterinary Science. Lastly they had to preform lab practicums on giving an animal an injection as well as making and tying a gauze muzzle for a dog.

Getting ready for FAFSA starts with being prepared. The 2027–2028 FAFSA Checklist is now available in English and Spanish to help your family gather everything needed before completing the application.

The checklist includes:

Student & parent information
Required financial documents
FSA ID reminders
Everything you'll need for a smoother FAFSA process
Review the checklist with your senior and gather your documents now so you're ready when FAFSA opens on October 1.

Information About Financial Aid & FSA ID Document: The 2027–2028 FAFSA officially opens October 1! Before you can complete your FAFSA, both the student and one parent/guardian (if required) need to create an FSA ID.
Complete your RDS & FSA ID now so you're ready on opening day!

Scholarship Memo: The Senior Scholarship Memo is now available! Students can locate it in the Senior Google Classroom. This document is updated with scholarship opportunities, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application information to help your senior pay for college.

We encourage you to:

Review the scholarship memo
Inform students about the scholarship memo
Keep track of upcoming deadlines
Encourage your senior to apply for multiple scholarships
Reach out to Ms. Rodgers for application or essay assistance

Starting 9/17 tickets will go on sale in the office for $20 until end of September. Ticket pricing will increase to $25 on 10/1-10/9.
Tickets are limited, so don’t wait… ask a date.
Guest forms will also be available in the office and turned in by 10/9.
