Cotillion registration closes Wednesday, September 23.

If cotillion has been on your family’s radar this year, now is the time to take one last look at the schedule and decide whether it feels like a good fit.

The seven-event season begins in October and continues through April, with classes, Afternoon Tea, a Formal Full-Course Dinner, and the Celebration Ball.

“Our schedule is already too busy.”

I get it. Middle schoolers are busy!

Cotillion meets once a month, and while regular attendance is encouraged, missing an event doesn't mean your student can’t keep up.

Students have the etiquette lesson material in their booklet, dance video tutorials are available for review, and students are welcome to attend the corresponding event at one of our other cotillion locations.

So if you’ve looked at the schedule and one date isn't working out, we’d love to have your student join us at a neighboring location if that helps make the schedule work!

Some of the most useful cotillion lessons are the ones kids may not have many chances to practice in everyday life.

How often does a middle schooler naturally get to:

‣ Introduce themselves to an unfamiliar adult?
‣ Navigate a multi-course dinner?
‣ Practice partner dancing with someone they just met?
‣ Write a sympathy note?
‣ Learn what to do at a funeral or reverent ceremony?
‣ Recover from an awkward social mistake without shutting down?

Cotillion gives students a low-stakes place to practice these things before the moment actually matters.

That’s one of my favorite parts of the program. We’re not waiting until they’re nervous at their first formal dinner, job interview, wedding, funeral, or other unfamiliar social situation to figure it all out.
