Wilmore Foundations Academy

Wilmore Foundations Academy We are a homeschool Co-op. We accept ages 3 years - 12th grade The goal is to nurture curiosity and appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.

The desire of Wilmore Foundations Academy is to keep curriculum
expenses for the family to a minimum while ensuring that necessary materials are available in each child’s home. In the younger grades, many reading resources for families will be available through the local public library system. Preschool and Kindergarten Subjects
-Bible
Beginning with the most solid foundation for all of life and l

earning, the Bible instruction period will be critical for establishing a Christian worldview. Bible lessons,
verse memorization, prayer and singing will create an environment in which the students may experience God’s truth and love.
-History
Sonlight’s History materials are intentional in laying the groundwork for an understanding that the world and its diverse people are created by God. An appreciation for other cultures and foreign languages is introduced early on.
-Language Arts
Realizing that the students entering the Academy will have a variety of levels of
knowledge in reading readiness, the Language Arts curriculum is flexible in content to be covered. All students will hear classics of literature read aloud and will interact with the stories through engaging activities. Each student will be guided toward reading readiness at a pace and level appropriate for the student.
-Science
Through hands-on activities, students will learn the uniqueness of God’s creation all
around them through instruction and experimentation in science.

📍 Where: Sanctuary of Wilmore Free Methodist Church
🧑 Parents only please, since there will be lots of information to cover!
🎒 Bring screenshots or proof of purchase of your child's instructors guide/textbooks for their classes. Teachers posted links on their Class Dojo Page of what is needed per class.
🎒Also bring confirmation that you are a member of HSLDA if you are already signed up. If not- no worries, we will provide all links & codes at Orientation Night!
🎨 Electives will start the 1st week of September. If you are interested in signing up, you will have an opportunity at Parent Orientation Night or you can use this link:

Note from the Director:

Hi! My name is Anna Joy Bryson, and I am the Founder/Director of Wilmore Foundations Academy. As the school year inches closer, I felt lead to share a note of encouragement to ALL parents.

When I started Wilmore Foundations Academy, I was told by some people that public school was the only option. Others told me I was running a homeschool co-op wrong. I got some form of criticism from lots of different people. But at the end of the day, I wanted to offer something different to families. WFA exists as an option for families that want to be more involved in their child’s education. I am a strong advocate for parent’s rights. After all, parents know their child better than anyone else. I was a product of public school. My kids went to public school for a season. Now we homeschool and spend 3 days a week at co-op. How ever you feel the need to educate your child, good for you! I applaud you!

I pray this year is full of fun, encouragement, support, and engagement. I will always fight for your right to make choices about your child’s future.
