OSUE Clinton County Master Gardeners The Clinton County Master Gardeners serve their community by providing education, service and beautification throughout the county.

Current projects the Clinton County Master Gardener Volunteers are involved with include the following: Habitat for Humanity, park beautification, food gardens, in-school and library educational programs for both youth and adults, their annual plant sale each spring and educational programs for the public thoughout the year.

Planning to purchase a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving?

Be sure to have a defrosting plan in place! Frozen turkeys can be safely defrosted in the refrigerator, but ample time is needed.

The following refrigerator thawing times are recommended for whole turkey:

4 to 12 pounds - 1 to 3 days
12 to 16 pounds - 3 to 4 days
16 to 20 pounds - 4 to 5 days
20 to 24 pounds - 5 to 6 days

Once a turkey is thawed, it can remain in the refrigerator 1 to 2 days prior to cooking.
