Two needs within our school family.

1. Our chess club,after school on Thursdays, is growing and needs more chess boards! Do you have a board at home that you don’t use anymore and you’re willing to donate? Drop it off at the office or email [email protected]

2. We have a family that has three students who need transportation after school each day to their babysitter over by Dominos pizza. Please email Danae if you’re willing or would like more information.

Introducing Growing Readers at WCA!

Helping children become stronger readers does not have to mean adding another worksheet to the evening.

Each Tuesday, Growing Readers at WCA will share one simple reading tip, activity, book recommendation, resource, or bit of encouragement for families with children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

This week’s reminder: Children are never too old to be read to. Reading aloud introduces children to new vocabulary, lets them enjoy books they may not be ready to read independently, and creates positive experiences around reading.
Even ten minutes together counts. Happy reading!

Wilmington Christian Academy is thrilled to have Dr. Anthony Smith teaching our high school students in Bible this year.

Education:
Dr. Smith graduated from Campbellsville University with a bachelor’s degree in Christian studies. He continued his education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to graduate with his masters degree and his doctorate. Dr. Smith is married to Kimberly, and they have four grown children - three sons and one daughter. Dr. and Mrs. Smith are blessed with 5 grandsons and one granddaughter, as well.

Hobbies:
Dr. Smith loves to travel around the world; but, he especially enjoys taking cruises with his wife to a variety of destinations.

We asked Dr. Smith for his favorite Bible verse.
Jeremiah 33:3.
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
