Montessori education isn’t a trend — it’s a time-tested approach that’s already changing lives all around the world. 🌎
Here’s what many people don’t realize:
✨ 15,000+ Montessori schools worldwide
✨ 3,500+ schools in the U.S.
✨ 590+ public Montessori programs across the country
From Washington D.C. to Denver to Houston, families already have access to public Montessori education through district and charter schools. These communities have seen firsthand how Montessori supports academic growth, independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Montessori Works, we believe Delaware families deserve access to those same opportunities. 🤍
We’re working to expand FREE Montessori charter school options so more children can learn in environments designed to help them truly thrive.
Together, we can bring this proven model to more families across Delaware.

With this support, we’re hiring our first Executive Director to help lead this work forward.
Applicant screenings begin June 4, and we’re now accepting applications.
If this role feels like a fit for someone you know, we’d truly appreciate you sharing it along.

What if math actually made sense to kids? 🔢✨
In Montessori classrooms, children don’t just memorize steps — they build a deep understanding of how math works through hands-on learning and exploration.
Research shows Montessori students demonstrate stronger problem-solving skills, conceptual math understanding, and higher math achievement. When children can see, touch, and experience math concepts, learning becomes meaningful instead of frustrating.
Montessori helps children move beyond “just getting the answer” and toward confidence, curiosity, and true understanding. 💙

Montessori education builds so much more than academic skills. 🌎✨
In a Montessori classroom, children learn how to focus deeply, collaborate with others, solve problems independently, show empathy, and take responsibility for their community. These are the very skills our world needs most — not just in school, but in life.
At Montessori Works, we believe every child deserves access to an education that nurtures the whole child. That’s why we continue working to expand FREE public Montessori opportunities for families across Delaware. 💙
Because when we invest in children, we invest in stronger communities, brighter futures, and a more compassionate world.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Montessori is that because it’s over 100 years old… it must be outdated.
But the interesting thing?
Modern research and neuroscience continue to support so many of the things Montessori believed all along.
🧠 movement supports learning
🧠 children learn deeply through hands-on experiences
🧠 mistakes are part of growth
🧠 environment matters
🧠 children thrive when they have autonomy, purpose, and meaningful work
Research is even showing that Montessori students often develop strong executive functioning skills, creativity, independence, and healthier relationships with learning itself.
In many ways, science is catching up to what Montessori figured out more than a century ago. 🤍
At Montessori Works, we believe children deserve learning environments designed to help them grow academically, socially, emotionally, and confidently.

One of the biggest questions people ask about Montessori is:
“But if there aren’t constant tests… how do teachers know children are learning?”
The answer is actually pretty simple:
Montessori teachers are observing, guiding, and tracking growth every single day.
Assessment in Montessori isn’t about teaching to a test. It’s woven into the classroom naturally through:
✨ observation
✨ individualized lessons
✨ hands-on learning
✨ understanding the whole child
In many ways, it’s similar to what great teachers already do instinctively — noticing growth, recognizing readiness, and supporting each child where they are.
Research continues to show that Montessori education supports not only academic growth, but also executive functioning, creativity, independence, and social-emotional development. 🤍
At Montessori Works, we believe every child deserves access to an education that sees them as more than a test score.

SEL doesn’t have to be a separate lesson on the schedule to show up in meaningful ways.
In Montessori environments, it’s built into the everyday rhythm of the classroom.
Research shows children in Montessori settings demonstrate stronger social problem-solving skills, more positive playground behavior, a deeper ability to understand others’ perspectives, and even reduced anxiety compared to peers in traditional settings.
And it doesn’t look like a program on a poster—it looks like real life:
- older students quietly helping younger ones figure something out
- children practicing conflict resolution with guidance, not control
- mixed-age classrooms where leadership and empathy are constantly being modeled
This is what happens when the environment itself is designed for social-emotional growth.
At Montessori Works, we’re working to make these kinds of learning experiences accessible to every child in Delaware through free, public Montessori charter schools.
If this vision matters to you, follow along and stay connected as we continue building it together.
